Sharing is caring!

It’s already a week into April but I wanted to share the books that I read during March. March was a good reading month for me as I read 8 books!

Shatter Me, Unravel Me, and Ignite Me by Tahereh Mafi

I re-read the original Shatter Me trilogy so that I would be ready for Restore Me which came out on March 6th. I first read this series three years ago when a co-worker let me borrow her books. As I re-read them in March I remembered all of the reasons that made me fall in love with this story and it’s characters. It was so fun to get back into this world! I give this series   5/5 stars overall and I think that Ignite Me is my favorite of the 3.

Restore Me by Tahereh Mafi

Restore Me DESTROYED ME. As I read Restore Me I kept saying, What the heck… what is going on? What is happening? GAH!! And that ending. I died.  I need the 5th book in this series as soon as possible, please and thank you. I love this series, and I was a little worried about there being more books because I did love the original trilogy so much, but this one did not disappoint. 5/5 Stars

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince by J.K. Rowling

I’ve been (slowly) re-reading the Harry Potter books again and I finished reading HP 6 during March. Honestly, this is one of my favorite HP books. We get to learn about Voldemort and I feel like Harry grows up a lot in this one. And of course I love the seventh and final book, but something about this one makes my heart sing every time I read it. What’s your favorite Harry Potter book? 5/5 Stars

Going Places by Kathryn Berla

I won Going Places from BookishFirst and I was so excited to read it. I had read the first look on BookishFirst and the first few chapters made me think of The Serpent King which is one of my favorite novels, and then I won a giveaway and received an eBook copy. I’m sad that this book did not live up to my personal expectations. I read a bunch of reviews on Goodreads after I finished it, and I didn’t like this book as much as other people did. I felt like it was slow paced and that not much happened… I gave it 3/5 stars.

The Belles by Dhonielle Clayton

LOVED The Belles. The Belles was one of my most anticipated releases of 2018 and I am so glad that I got my hands on it. I did go back and forth between liking it and not liking it at first. The first part of the book is very descriptive and felt very setting heavy, I wanted to get into the story more. But, the ending did not disappoint (and can I just say that the rest of the book was written extremely well and even though it took me a little while to read it, I loved it.) I am so excited for this series and I can’t wait to see where it goes. You can read my full review here.

Eliza and Her Monsters by Francesca Zappia

This one was my re-read and it’s still one of my favorite books! I love Eliza and her story. I love how this book reminds me so much of myself. This is one of those books that inspires me and my writing. Do you have books like that?

And my favorite book that I read in March was Simon Vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli

I wanted to read SVtHSA before I went and saw Love, Simon (which I still need to go see.) But I adored this book. The characters were cute, likable, and real. If you haven’t read Simon yet, I highly recommend that you run to the nearest store or library to pick up a copy. 5/5 stars

March was a really good reading month for me. I read so many good books and I feel like it helped me get out of the reading slump that I felt like I was in. April is already a week in and I’ve finished one book, and I’m reading several others and I think this month will be a good month too!

What was your favorite read in March?
