I have been falling in love with Young Adult fantasy novels lately (related: The Cruel Prince and The Wicked King) and I can’t believe that a few years ago I would never have imagined that I would love fantasy so much. Back in 2016 when I really started reading a lot again, I picked up a few fantasy novels that I just fell in love with.

One of those that I read was Ever the Hunted by Erin Summerill. I read the entire book in one sitting on a day where my anxiety was high and loved it immediately. Britta was likable, the world and magic system was interesting and I was hooked with the little bit of mystery throughout the book.

Fast forward to last week, when I decide to reread Ever the Hunted. In January I received all of Erin’s books from a giveaway that I’d entered on Instagram and won! I wanted to read the other to books that take place in the world, but I couldn’t remember much of what had happened in Ever the Hunted.

I’m so glad I reread it though! And I’ve started Ever the Brave and I’m liking it even more! Britta lives in a land where magic is forbidden. After her father is killed and she’s left near starving, she ends up poaching on the kings land. Instead of being sentenced to death she’s sent with the Kings captain to find the person who killed her father. Ah. It’s just so good.

There was also a little bit of romance, which always makes my heart happy. But, if you’re looking for a great new fantasy world to dive into (and one that isn’t heavy or hard to understand) I highly recommend picking up Ever the Hunted! I’ll also share my thoughts on Ever the Brave once I’ve finished that!

What have you been reading recently? I’d love to hear about it!
