Last month I shared all the things that I was currently reading, watching, and loving! This is my way of doing a monthly wrap up post and also giving a mini update on the things that are happening in my life! I had so much fun writing this post that I wanted to do it again, and I’m planning to at least do this every month for a year and see how it goes!
One of my goals for the month of February was to take at least one day a week and have a tv free day. It has been awesome and I spent more than one day each week away from the TV! That being said, I still love watching a good show on Netflix or Hulu.
…Elementary. Griffin and I have been watching this when he gets home from work and on the weekends. It’s another version of Sherlock with a female Watson! We’re obsessed.
…Kitchen Nightmares. Another show that Griffin and I have been watching lately. We love Gordon Ramsay and this show is really fun to watch. And it also makes me never want to eat out again, because some of the restaurants are disgusting.
…Master Chef. I myself have been really interested in all things food lately. My current show of choice has been Master Chef and it really makes me want to be a better home chef. So all you foodies out there, send me your favorite cook books and food blogs!
…Grey’s Anatomy. I am still LOVING this current season. I’m obsessed with Deluca and Meredith. That’s all. Can’t wait to see what happens as the season unfolds.
I can’t call myself a book blogger (at least somewhat) and not talk about all the things I read this month. February was AN AMAZING reading month for me. I fell in love with reading again and again and I just want to read and devour all of the books.
…Sky in the Deep. This was my book club book for the month of February (we’re reading We Were Liars in March and you can join us here). I was wildly impressed with this book. It’s basically described as Wonder Woman meets Vikings and I really really enjoyed it.
…This Is Where You Belong. LOVED. And it made me want to really go out and explore where we live now! I can’t wait to try some of the tips I discovered in this gem of a book. You can read my full review here.
…The Wicked King. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. I need book three right away. This book made me excited about reading all over again. Read my review for The Cruel Prince (book 1) here and my review for The Wicked King here.
…Love a la Mode. This one was so cute and sweet and about FOOD. It made it on my list for 5 YA romances that you need to read, and well, you just need to read it!
…The Read-Aloud Family. Another one that I just devoured. LOVED IT SO MUCH. Ah. And it made me so excited to keep reading out loud to Von and growing that special bond with her. I’ve officially dubbed the hour between 3-4pm as reading hour where we listen to audiobooks, I read out loud to Von and we basically just read all of the books. I did have a few things about this book that I didn’t love, but in general, it was a great read!
...Becoming. Gah. Another one that I loved (or should I say loving, since I’m almost done listening!) I’d say that I couldn’t put it down, but I listened to it on Audible. SO. DANG. GOOD. You can read my full review here. I ended up getting an Audible subscription (2 free books to try it out for a month, and if you quit you still get to keep the books) because I was like number 500 to get Becoming from the library. I did not know anything really about Michelle Obama and I really love this book. I read this as part of Everyday Reading’s book club.
…The Year of Less. Another audiobook and one that I really enjoyed. It also gave me the extra push I needed to have a spending freeze, but more on that next week.
…City of Bones. Another audiobook that I really enjoyed! I’ve been wanting to read Cassandra Clare’s books, but actually reading the physical books seems intimidating, so I’m trying the audiobooks and enjoying them so far! Just started to listen to book two!
…We tried this calzone recipe on Sunday and it’s a winner! we’ll be adding it to our weekly/bi-weekly menu for sure!
…Morning writing sessions. I’ve been getting up a little bit earlier (at least before Von) so that I can work on my book. It’s been so incredible. I’m in love with the story and the first draft is really coming together. It needs a lot of work, but my goal right now is to get the words written! I can’t wait to share this book with you someday.
That’s everything that I’m currently loving, reading, and watching! What were some of your favorites in February?
