Hey friend! I’m Taylor Epperson!

I’m passionate about living a simple, beautiful, and faith-filled life.

I used to have crippling anxiety.

So crippling that I could barely make it to work most days, and on days that I did make it, I had a panic attack in the bathroom more often than not.

Sounds fun right? Not!

When I got pregnant, I knew things would be changing.

All my life I’ve wanted to be a stay at home mom. I wanted to be there to watch and help my children grow and learn. I wanted to create a beautiful home and a place where we could make memories, relax, and feel God’s love.

Right before I gave birth to my daughter, Von, we moved to Colorado.

I was jobless (at least in terms of going to a job to earn money) and was now a stay at home mom without a car full time (yup, we’re a 1 car family!)

But, by the time my daughter was about 5 months old, I had binge-watched so many series on Netflix and I was going crazy. There had to be something more to this, to life.

I came back to blogging.

Okay, to be honest, I never really left. I’ve been blogging for 10 years and it’s basically a part of me now. But I decided it was time to get serious about blogging again.

Over the past year, this blog was born. I’ve played around with several different sites (and ultimately switched to Squarespace) and spent some time figuring out just exactly what I want from blogging.

First and foremost, I’m a mom and homemaker. These things fill me up (but it wasn’t always that way) and I love talking about motherhood and homemaking. I especially love talking about motherhood and how it relates to mental health. My anxiety didn’t just disappear when my daughter was born.

This past year and a half as a mom has been the most trying time for me mentally. My daughter is an angel, literally, but my mental health makes life real tough sometimes, and I am not shy about talking about my struggles.

My second love though has always been reading and writing.

I long to be a published author (currently working on my first novel, you can watch my writing updates on YouTube).

And I love books. If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll know that ;

Basically, what I’m trying to tell you is that by being a reader of my blog, you’ll get lot’s of book recommendations, way too much information about mental health and my story, and a whole lot of ways that will help you simplify your life. Every Sunday we have some faith chats and occasionally I’ll share some blog advice + tips that I’ve learned along the way.

My number one goal is helping you live your best life, full of purpose and passion and faith. And to read a few good books along the way.

I’m so glad you’re here! If we aren’t yet, let’s be friends.

Now for some fun, random things about me!

My favorite books are The Serpent King by Jeff Zentner, Our Dark Duet by V.E. Schwab, and The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin.

I love sour cream and cheddar Ruffles.

I could eat pizza every day.

My favorite TV shows include Grey’s Anatomy, Gilmore Girls, Criminal Minds, Bones, and The Office.

I’m from Utah and currently live in Colorado.

I’ve got PTSD and anxiety.

Disneyland is one of my favorite places to visit with family.

I’m a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

I served a mission for my church in Irvine, CA, which is where I met my husband, Griffin.

Von is named after our mission president.

The 4th of July and Christmas are my two favorite holidays.

My biggest inspiration right now for simple living is Emily Ley.
