11 Books I Have On Hold at the Library

I was reading Jamie’s blog (Perpetual Page Turner) a few weeks ago and she shared all of the books that she currently has on hold at the library. (Her post was from last year, and I read it after falling down the rabbit hole of reading random old blog posts on book blogs) I’m using her idea and sharing my hold list with you today!

I love the library and I’m there at least once a week! The first thing I did when we moved here in September was to get a library card! I always have books on hold (and then they always seem to come at the same time) but today I wanted to share everything that I’m currently waiting to read!

The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides. I’ve been wanting to read this one ever since @thebookishalix started talking about it last year. This one is ready for pickup.

American Royals by Katharine McGee. This is one that’s been on my list for a while. I keep seeing it, one of my really good friends said it was entertaining but not her favorite, but that she’d continue on with the series. I wanted to give it a try. The entire premise is what if America had a royal family from the very beginning, instead of the system we use today. This one is also ready for pickup.

I Am Love by Susan Verde. Yup, I’ve got pictures books on my holds list. This is the only one I have right now, but I’ll be adding a lot more to my list thanks to all of the suggestions from Everyday Reading. Place in queue: 1

How To Walk Away by Katherine Center. I LOVED reading Things You Save in a Fire and I’m about to start Happiness for Beginners and I’m excited to read more books by Katherine! I’ve heard so many good things about this one. Place in queue: 1

Such a Fun Age by Kiley Reid. Such a Fun Age has been all over bookstagram and I’ve been dying to pick it up! Apparently not many people at my library want it, cause I’m the next person to get it! (And seriously, all of my holds are going to come right at the same time.)

Just Mercy by Bryan Stevenson. I put this on hold so I could read it for the Everyday Reading book club in February, but who knows when I’ll get it! I also want to read Just Mercy before we see the movie!

To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han. It’s been a few years since I read this series and with the new movie last week I’ve been wanting to read these again! I don’t own them (but I need to at some point!) so I’ll be listening to the audio from the library. Place in queue: 1

P.S. I Still Love You by Jenny Han. This is probably my least fave in the series (because I love Peter K!) I really enjoyed the movie, but I also vaguely remember that they didn’t keep a lot of stuff in the movie. Place in queue: 5

Always and Forever, Lara Jean by Jenny Han. Gotta read (listen) to the whole series, cause I can’t stop with book two! Place in queue: 5

Know My Name by Chanel Miller. I have been wanting to read Know My Name for so long! As a survivor, I love being able to read other survivors’ stories. Can’t wait to get this one. Place in queue: 2

All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven. With the new movie coming out, I think it’s time to finally read this one! Plus one of my best friends told me I should. I used to own this, but I’m not sure what happened to my copy. Place in queue: 2.

    1. I have way too many books checked out from my library! I never read them all but I will keep them for awhile because I MIGHT read them!

      1. Haha RIGHT!? I do the same thing. Especially when they all come in at the same time, there’s no way to read all of them, but I’ll keep trying 😉

    2. I have read most of these and they were all great!

      1. Yay! That makes me even more excited to read them!

    3. I (Jen) love this post! I’m a HUGE fan of library holds myself, and I think the books you’ve chosen are phenomenal. We’re going to be discussing American Royals as our Unabridged Podcast Book Club pick in May (that was our Readers’ Choice winner!), and we dived into Just Mercy at the end of season 2. Ashley loves I Am Love (and that whole series), and Sara has raved about Such a Fun Age.

I’ve been trying to be a little more restrained with my own library holds lately–I got into some overwhelming due date situations last year, and I’m working on my backlist–but your post made me want to go library hold crazy all over again!

      1. I can’t wait to hear you guys chat about American Royals (once I read it!) I try to stay restrained with mine, my library has a way to make lists so I have a TON on a TBR list that I add to my holds list when it gets a little low. But I love using the library!

    4. Brady and I are moving in a few weeks and I CANNOT WAIT for the library!!! Our library here in the small town has very little to choose from so I can’t wait to have access to more books!! I loved the library growing up, though I wish I would’ve fallen in love with actual reading sooner! Haha 🙂 And I love that you have a picture book on your list because I’ve been wanting to add more picture books to my list for my daughter so that I can share them with her one day!

      1. Yay for new and bigger libraries!! Our library is much smaller than my old one, but they seem to have an even better selection of books, which I’m grateful for! And I use the online library system which offers books that they don’t have in the library. But yes! I’ve been putting more and more picture books on hold, right now I get a lot of suggestions from Everyday Reading!

    5. I havent read any of these, but they look great! I’ve heard good things about the Jenny Han ones!

      1. I loved To All the Boys I’ve love Before! I can’t wait to read them again 🙂 I hope you enjoy them if you end up reading them!

    6. I’m a librarian so I love to hear about this!! I work in the children’s department so I don’t get the chance to read many "adult" novels. I really want to read "to all the boys I’ve loved before" though!

      1. That’s so fun! You definitely should pick up To all the boys! They are great!

    7. Great post I love going to the library and putting books on hold as well. I hope you enjoy each library books. All these books looks and sounds absolutely fantastic and right up my alley too. Thank you so much for sharing your awesome post.

      1. The library is so much fun! Thanks for visiting! It was such a fun post to write.
