Good Food and Good Friends

Yesterday was a bit of a heavy day for me. As I thought about 9/11/01 and everything that’s happened since then. I also feel like my mind is going a mile a minute because lots of things are happening right now (more on that tomorrow) but we made the best of it yesterday!

Griffin’s old boss gave him a gift card to a fancy restaurant called Del Frisco’s Grill where we went to lunch yesterday. The food was great and Von was only interested in looking out the window. She was really good (like she is most of the time when we go out) and only screamed/cried after she ran into the table with her head.

Which Griffin and I just laughed about because we were surrounded by all of these business people having business lunches and we’re there with our crying toddler. She really was good though, smiling and waving at all the people.

Then later last night I went to my friend and health coach Lisa’s house to do an outside workout. It was so fun to move my body (since I haven’t been much the past few weeks because of stress, which is when I needed it the most) and to connect with some awesome women.

We all talked about where we were on 9/11 and everyone there besides me was in college (I was 7) but it wasn’t weird to be hanging out with women who are older than me. We’re in different stages of life sure, but we’re all women, all trying to be healthy, and all moms.

After I talked with Lisa for a while, I’m so grateful I met her and that we’re friends! Making friends as an adult hasn’t been super easy for me, so when you get a good friendship, you keep it.

It was a good day and today is a busy busy busy day. But hopefully another good one. Happy Thursday friends.
