May Favorites

May has been our second full month of staying at home. We’ve gotten into a good groove with all of us being home and it’s going well.

We’re currently saving for a house (!!!) But, we do get a monthly allowance each month to spend on whatever we’d like. I asked last week over on Instagram if you wanted to see some non-bookish things that I’ve been loving lately and almost everyone said yes!

These are things that I either got in May or before that! I’ll also say that I’m not about to become a beauty or fashion blogger by any means, but hey, some of these things are super fun!

1) Old Navy Swing Dress.

I loved it so much I got it in two colors, the black polka dots + the blue! It’s a perfect dress for summer, whether you’re hanging out around the house or going out (which we haven’t been doing much of) Right now they’re less than $16!

2) Caffeinate Your Soul by Erica Gwynn

Did you really think I’d have a monthly favorites list without sharing at least 1 book on this list? Plus I talked about this book a little yesterday on Instagram, so I had to add it to the list! Caffeinate Your Soul: 52 Monday Mantras is a personal growth/self-help/motivational book written by one of my favorite bloggers, Erica from Coming Up Roses. I’ve been reading one mantra a week, and friends, this book will change your life! I PROMISE!

3) My May Stitch Fix

I loved my fix this time around! I love that I can have someone pick out clothes for me (I do not love clothes shopping). I only get this 1-2 times a year (and I save up for it, in case I want to keep everything). I loved my fix this month! If you want to try it out, you can get a $25 credit using this link.

4) My new tripod

Hi yes, I’ve been blogging for… um… 10 years. I finally got serious about it in 2019 as a way for me to make a little extra income + talk about all the books and things I love. But I finally ordered a tripod so that I can take pictures of myself that aren’t selfies! I’m still learning how to use my new tripod, but I think it’s a winner! (and only $35, but you can get a similar one for less than $30 here)

5) My new Loopy phone case

Back in October I was asking my aunt about her loopy case and I finally got my own! It’s only been a week but I love it so much, full review to come!

6) This $5 brush from Bathpack

I’m been using the same brush (okay, well like the same brand) since high school. I decided to take the plunge and try something new, and friends, this makes your hair feel like butter. If you’ve got tangles, this is the brush for you because it doesn’t hurt at all to use!

7) Tula Blurring and Moisturizing Primer

I’ve been using this since December. I haven’t ever been one to wear much makeup. This primer blends to help my skin look a little better and I just love it!! You can use it before you put on the rest of your makeup, or like I do and use it as the only thing you put over your whole face. It’s worth every penny, I PROMISE.

8) Tula Glow & Get It cool and brightening eye balm

I got this when I got the Skincare Essentials Routine kit after a few friends had raved about Tula products, and this is a FAVORITE of mine! It makes me feel refreshed and honestly boosts my mood as much as it helps under my eyes.

9) The Joyful Greeting Card set from Cultivate What Matters

I sent out a few cards for Mother’s Day and for friend’s birthdays! These cards are so bright and fun and will definitely bring some cheer to your loved ones.

These are just a few of my favorite things that I’ve been loving this month! What have you been loving this month?
