April started off as a slow reading month, but then I ended up reading 10 books! It was a really good month for reading, today I'll be sharing everything I read + a mini 1-2 sentence review for all of the books.

Books I really recommend from what I read in April
Becoming by Michelle Obama. Wow. This book was incredible. I listened to the audiobook version and I loved it. I didn't really know anything about Michelle or her life. She has such grace and class as she tells her story. I highly recommend picking this one up, everyone will walk away a better person after reading (or listening) to Becoming.
Essentialism: The Disciplined Pursuit of Less by Greg McKeown. Wow. Another amazing one. I also listened to Essentialism and this book seriously changed my life! I learned so much about making time in life for the things that are most essential and letting go of all the rest. I'll be adding a physical copy of this to my library at some point.
I've Got Your Number by Sophie Kinsella. Okay. So I started the audiobook for this a few weeks ago and struggled to get into it. But it is my book club pick for the month of May (read it with us!) and I got the actual book and read it ALL yesterday (so the last day of April instead of May, oh well) and I loved it. It was hilarious and sweet. There was some language, but it was fairly clean for a romance.
Other books I really enjoyed
It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover. This was my first Colleen Hoover book and it did not disappoint. I didn't expect this book to be so good. I loved that it digs deeper into domestic abuse and old love and it was just so good. 4 stars! There is language and sex if you don't like reading that, I'd avoid this one and the next one.
All Your Perfects by Colleen Hoover. Another one that I loved. All Your Perfects deals with infertility and flashes back from when the couple meets to when they are married and dealing with the after-effects of infertility. Another hard-hitting novel and one that I adored.
Books you should probably just read
Defy Me by Tahereh Mafi. Um. Wow. The 5th book in this series. It reads more like a novella, there's a lot of background information and more romance between one of my favorite romances! I can't wait to read the last book in this series that comes out next year!
99 Percent Mine by Sally Thorne. Another romance novel that I enjoyed, but didn't love as much as The Hating Game by the same author. This one is more about friends to lovers which is a trope I really love. There is also lots of sex in this book (can we have more romances with less sex? sometimes it's fine and sometimes I don't love it) didn't love the scenes in this book.
Weddings, Willows, and Revised Expectations by V. Joy Palmer. This was a Christian romance that I had so much fun reading! I wrote a full review on my blog which you can read here. If you want a lighter romance, that's also clean you should pick this one up.
That's everything I read in April! Lot's of romance and contemporary because that's what I've been in the mood for (and it's also the genre of the book I'm writing!) What did you read this month? Which book was your favorite?
