Welcome to The Faith Project Blog

Hi friends welcome to the faith project blog. I already wrote a post talking about my blogging hiatus and what I wanted to accomplish with this blog. That's not a post anyone will ever read though. It's funny (only sorta) how we can go down a path and then feel that it isn't exactly what we are supposed to be doing. There has been a lot of leaning on God lately to know exactly what this blog should be and what I should say. Honestly, I'm still not entirely sure, but I do know that I've been inspired so far, and I'll keep leaning on God and trusting in His timing and going with my gut on what to share with you.Today is the official (re)launch of this blog. Since February it has been a book blog where I posted things like my summer TBR and lots of book reviews. Many of the original posts I planned for this blog were book posts. And while I'll still be sharing some of those (I can't simply stop talking about books) the main focus of this blog will be faith related.

Have you ever read a blog that left you feeling inspired, uplifted, and ready to take on the world, no matter the challenged you faced?

I know that I have. I love reading those blogs, NieNie Dialogues is one of my all-time favorite blogs and I am often inspired by her. The blogging world is something I've been a part of for about 6 years now. I've learned a few things about blogging, but I'll share those another day. Maybe."Write what you want to read" is the best piece of writing advice I've ever heard. But until a few months ago, thought about it only in terms of writing a novel. Over the past several months I've felt this itch to just write, but I couldn't ever think of what story I wanted to tell. I have about seven billion story ideas, and maybe I'll be able to write them all at some point. But right now that isn't my focus.

On a random day in August as I was finishing nursing Von, I had a thought, what if I wrote blog posts about the things that I wanted to read.

I've spent a lot of time studying blogging trends and thinking about what type of 'blogger' I want to be. But what if I put those things aside and wrote what I wanted to read. And then, The Faith Project was born. I started with an Instagram account but knew that I wanted to make this blog into something more than it had been.My main goal with this blog is to be real and raw and vulnerable. I am a mom with PTSD and anxiety (not from birth or postpartum) but these are things that I struggle with every. single. day. It's hard to be a mom with a mental illness, and so far I haven't found a blog or another person that talks much about that, so I'm going to start. I'll also be sharing my journey of coming back to God after being angry with Him for a long time and I'll talk about the little and big things I do every day to bring God back into my life.I am fabulously imperfect and this blog isn't about the perfections. It's about digging deep, talking about the good and the hard in motherhood, strengthening our faith together, and maybe a few posts about blogging because honestly, those are some of my favorite to read (I know I'm a weirdo.) But this is me, and I'm excited about this new Faith Project, and I'll have more details on what exactly that means for me (and for you) soon. but I'm so glad you're here to learn with me as we put God first in our lives.

I'll be sharing posts every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday here on the faith project blog.

Every week you can expect a post on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. I would love to write more, and maybe someday I will, but this is a schedule that works for me right now. I hope you'll join me on this new journey, I am excited to share it with you.Coming this month:

  • Am I Enough? Book review + thoughts (on October Tuesday, October 23rd, this next week I will still be on my social media fast which our Prophet challenged us to do during General Conference. I also felt prompted to share this post today but wait a week to start sharing other posts I've written!)
