It’s that time to announce the Tay’s Book Club pick for the month of February!

I’m changing a few things on how I run Tay’s Book Club, instead of having people vote like I have in the past, I will be choosing the books.

Tay’s Book Club is completely virtual (since we’re still in a pandemic) but it’s a fun way to read together + connect with other people.

In February we will be reading When You Were Everything by Ashley Woodfolk. I am so excited to read this book and discuss it with you!

As of right now, we’ll be chatting over on Instagram, so be sure to follow there and let me know you’ll be reading with us, so we can get a group chat set up!

About When You Were Everything

You can’t rewrite the past, but you can always choose to start again.

It’s been twenty-seven days since Cleo and Layla’s friendship imploded.

Nearly a month since Cleo realized they’ll never be besties again.

Now, Cleo wants to erase every memory, good or bad, that tethers her to her ex–best friend. But pretending Layla doesn’t exist isn’t as easy as Cleo hoped, especially after she’s assigned to be Layla’s tutor. Despite budding new friendships with other classmates—and a raging crush on a gorgeous boy named Dom—Cleo’s turbulent past with Layla comes back to haunt them both.

Alternating between time lines of Then and Now, When You Were Everything blends past and present into an emotional story about the beauty of self-forgiveness, the promise of new beginnings, and the courage it takes to remain open to love.

Grab a copy

I always (unless I already have the book) check my library and the Libby (free library app) to see if they have a copy of the book first! If not, or if you just want to buy a copy here’s a few places you can find it:

  1. Amazing post Taylor! I will definitely add this book into my reading list for the 2021! Hope I can find to read it because of school! 🙈 x Penny | whatdidshetype.blogspot.com

    1. Thank you! I hope you enjoy it when you get to it! I know school makes it tough to read a lot, I’ve been there!

  2. Interesting!

I love YA stories that focus more on friendships and interactions between girls. It’s a breath of fresh air from the save-the-world-and-choose-the-right-boy-in-this-love-triangle trope.

    1. Yes! It’s been a while since I read a book that’s more focused on friendship (I’m also a sucker for a good romance, but we don’t need them in every book!)

  3. Everyone always talks about Libby but I’ve never used it. I wonder if it’s for non-Americans… thanks for sharing this book!

    1. I really love Libby! I know it’s through my library, so non-Americans might have it, but I’m not sure!

  4. I’ve heard of this author before, but I didn’t realize she had a new novel! I’m definitely going to have to look this one up. The synopsis sounds so good!

    1. I don’t think I’ve read any of her other books yet, but I’m excited to read this one!

  5. Ahhh! I’m so bummed that I already have several book club/buddy-reads for February now because I would’ve loved to join this – but I’m totally in over my head as it is haha! Maybe if I get a chance towards the end of the month, I’ll pick it up. It sounds like such a great book. I hope your book club enjoys it!

    1. That’s totally fair! I said yes to doing this one, plus one other this month since I tried to do too many in the past few months. But if you have time, I hope you can join us!
